Were there for dinner a few days ago. Had called beforehand to make a reservation, but the boss said it wasn't necessary to just come over. When we were there we were greeted in a friendly way, the restaurant was completely empty except for two house guests who had a drink. The atmosphere was a bit gloomy and not really lovingly designed. We ordered something to drink and got two small schnapps from the boss on the house with the comment please stay healthy, everything was very friendly. Then we ordered two consommé for starters, a rump steak and a spring water trout for the main course. We were really looking forward to the food because the reviews were consistently positive. We got the soups, optically the soup looked more like a water mug, which in the end it was. That really had nothing to do with a consommé! Then the boss came and brought us two salads, without asking if we were satisfied with the soup, he also cleared it away. Now to the salad, at first glance fresh but rather unusually arranged. To Oberst Rohkost without any dressing and underneath small-cut iceberg lettuce, the dressing that was in the bottom of the plate turned out to be a simple discounter dressing. Okay again a disappointment. But the worst was my main course! I had ordered rump steak with fried onions, the meat was not a steak from the back but from the top shell and even worse it was sour or greasy! Absolute cheek to bring something like that on the plate as a cook, I wouldn't even give it to my dog ​​anymore! The fried onions were just cold, extremely fatty, and tough. The best thing on the plate was the potato wedges! The fish from my company was anything but a spring water trout! In addition, completely covered by freeze-dried rosemary so that you couldn't taste anything of the fish. That was enough, we wanted to speak to the boss and pay. He was at the table exactly twice to bring the food and the bill, not once were we asked if everything was okay! I tried to explain to him objectively what was wrong here, but he didn't understand very much of my words, the operators were probably a Hungarian family. In the end, I wanted to make it clear to him that I won't pay anything for this meat, just for the rest of the food and the potatoes on my plate. He said I should have told him earlier, now he would have left the bill out. PUUH, I was getting really angry .... he waived € 9 off the bill, I paid because I was tired from this whole discussion and left the bar immediately. I know that this rating does not fit into the scheme of the previous ratings. But I can only rate what I experienced in this restaurant! So my advice if you value good food, you better stay away! I'm a trained chef, but I've never seen anything like this before!

Very friendly staff! We had cafe, strudel and yeast dumplings, everything was delicious and the price was right. Guest room a bit dark and old.

Friendly service, everything fresh, salad dressing and cheese spaetzle were unfortunately not my taste.

A nice quaint restaurant and hotel. The portions were sufficient and tasty. The family is very attentive and nice. The Geißkopf Bikepark is approx. 1 km away and can be easily reached in 5 minutes by bike, therefore the accommodation is ideal for a visit to the bike park.

Nice privately run hotel with a very good restaurant. Room very clean and nicely furnished. The food was really excellent. The owners were always available and took care of everything. Price / performance ratio is absolutely right. The environment is just beautiful. We would go back anytime. Worth it.

Very nice staff. All bathrooms have been renovated. Some technical installations were solved quite unconventionally. But it was okay. Very delicious food, the Bohemian specialties of the house can be recommended.

There were three of us spontaneously eating. And were pleasantly surprised. Because we wanted to eat on the terrace, a table was carried outside to make this possible. The food was delicious and there was a snack for everyone on the house. Everything looked very neat and was comfortably furnished. All around I can only recommend the inn. The next time we are in the area we will definitely stop by again.

Very nice and cozy hotel in a perfect location for a trip to the Bavarian Forest. The hosts are extremely polite and helpful. The food was hearty and delicious and very large portions. We had no complaints. Highly recommended.

The first time here been a guest. I can only agree with the very good reviews. The owners are very accommodating, nice and uncomplicated. From the beginning my stay was a round thing. Had my luggage in advance in the hotel send, previously by mail asked if that works. Answer is done the same evening. For my bicycle I was provided with the lockable cellar. Dinner even though I eat vegan was not an issue either. Big salad and as much bread as I wanted. Room was newly furnished and renovated and furnished in the style typical of the country. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. Come back anyway.
